Since they have made a bargain with the Devil,
Then as their city has been shaken level,
We do not need to feel compassion's pain.
They may be dismissed with smug disdain.
They brought upon themselves their sorry plight,
So we may watch them swallowed up by night
And feel no pang of conscience or identity
Since they consorted with the evil entity.
We may praise Our Lord in blithe felicity,
Remaining unaware of our duplicity;
As woe befalls that dark and sinful race,
We are protected by His saving Grace.
The Lord has chosen; He has chosen well:
For we are spared, and they can go to Hell!
